Preparing your chapter

  • Your chapter is situated within a thematic strand/Section of the book. We wish to build a coherent perspective in each Section, so when you are revising your chapter, please incorporate/consider the editorial guidance we have provided for your Section.
  • Please keep to a word limit of 6000 words. You need not feel obliged to "write to the limit".
  • Please use the template provided to format your text. Detailed instructions are provided in the template. Images appearing in your chapter are to be provided separately from the article (not inline), as attachments to your subpage.
  • Please insert your references using APA style.
  • Please make yourself familiar with the contributions from the other authors in your thematic Section, avoiding any obvious redundancies.

Submitting your chapter

We would prefer that you use Google Docs and insert your text onto your subpage. This has the added benefit that people can read it inl-line and can make comments in the Google Doc. Take a look at how we did this on the Introduction page. Alternatively, you can email us your text as a Word document and we will post it for you. In either case you must use the provided template for your text. Use this template to create a Google Doc, and embed it in your chapter's page. Or, you can download the Word template and attach the document to your chapter's page, or email it to the editors and we will attach it for you.
